Cwmbran Community Big Event

Disability Advice Project (DAP) joined Cwmbran Community Council’s Big Event at the Boating Lake on Saturday 10 June, for a day of fun with activities including music and dance acts, a dog show, gaming van, sports arena, inflatables, face painting, craft, and food stalls. The event also had an environmental theme, with displays on recycling, wildlife and sustainability.

Hundreds of people visited DAP’s stall for advice and a chance to win prizes with our Play your Cards Right game. Prizes included sensory pens, erasers and blow bubbles. We gave away ice pops to all participants, which were very popular as temperatures soared.

Jayne Salkeld, Joint Project Manager, Disability Advice Project, said: “The Big Event provided a wonderful way to let people know about support available from DAP. It was great to see so many people having fun, with plenty of activities free of charge, but we also had lots of people asking questions about disability issues and we were delighted to be able to help.”
