Salary: £23,262 FTE

Disability Advice Project is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and confident adviser to join our Welfare Rights Team.   The successful candidate will provide active support for people with long-term health conditions/ disabilities, their Carers and families in making and managing their Universal Credit claims including in-depth casework and accessing and utilising on-line services. They will assist them with accessing other organisations to help with managing their money and maintaining their tenancies. They will train volunteers to provide the service.

Role Purpose

  • To interview and advise clients at DAP’s office in Cwmbran, outreach venues in Torfaen and home visits.
  • Provide advice on Universal Credit and a range of welfare rights issues to people with a long term health condition, disabled people their families and carers.
  • Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting and writing letters and telephoning; liaising with external organisations
